Mik started Scouts

So tonight Mik had his very first scout meeting. I don't know who was more excited him or me. He hasn't gotten home yet, but I'm sure he has had a great time, his friend Blake picked him up. Tomorrow we are going down to the scout office to get his wolf book, grandma is going to pick up his shirt. Only two more months and Mat gets to join him.

We're home

We got home early friday morning after driving all night. Mike made us listen to the Hobbit on cd and it wasn't to unpleasant, I read and the boys were asleep by the time we hit AZ. Why is it that it always takes you longer to get home than it did to get where you were.

Anyways while we were in Vegas Mik turned 8. He is very excited to start scouts this next week. Not sure how I feel about him being in scouts, as that means he is growing up. I can hardly believe that he will be in the 3rd grade this year.

I also had a b-day, can't say that I was happy about that as I don't want to get any older, don't get me wrong I love the presents and the party just not the getting older part.

The boys and I spent wednseday with Kim and her kids. Maddy and Jake get cuter everytime I see them. The boys loved it at Kim's place as she has a pool and they can swim to their hearts content. They are also excited for Kim's new baby.

Speaking of babies what is it with our family, for the last couple of babies all of our siblings that can have babies are pregnant at the same time, this time is no exception. Makes me glad that we are done. We only know the se of one baby and that is Zoe (Kerwin and Angela's new baby), Jon and Steph think that it is a girl, and Kim isn't going to find out, she says that she has one of each so she doesn't need to know on this one.

Okay I think that is enough ramblings for now.

We're in Vegas

So Mike and I got to Vegas early Friday morning. We didn't do much, I went out with Melanie and had lunch. Friday night all the boys went and saw Dark Knight, as it was my birthday I didn't want to see it, Melanie, Mom and I went and saw Mama Mia. One of the best movies I have ever seen.

Last night we had a b-day party for me and the boys at my sister Kim's house. The kids all had fun, as did the adults. It was great to be together. I'll post pics later of the party.

The Girls and Boy

When I was talking to Mik this morning he asked me to post pictures of his cats as he is missing them. So here they are Storm, Finn and Idril.
Idril is the baby of the group at 3 months old.
Finn our one boy cat...he is 8 months old,Storm is the oldest of the group at 8 years old.


As you can see they were all sleeping. For those that know Storm she is slowly coming out from under the bed.

The Boys are Gone

So it has been a week since they boys have left. It has been a very unproductive week for Mike and I. I have done schoolwork, Mike has worked. We did have a little of bit of excitment this week when Mike was offered a job with the Beauru of Prison's in Hawaii. He put in for Hawaii as a lark, we never thought that we would have to have the discussion of whether or not to take the job. After weighing the pros and cons we decided to turn down the job. We are hoping for the mid-west or Colorado.

Mike and I are going to Vegas this week to pick up the boys. We will be there for a week.

Happy 4th of July

Hope everyone has a great day. We are going to an Old Fashioned Parade, and a ball game today. Mike's mom and sister are here. I'll post pics later.

My amazing boys

We have been watching the Olympic Swimming Trials and the boys, but especially Mat have been paying attention to their techniques. We go to the pool everyday and today after watching Michael Phelps their fave olympian they began practicing they had seen. Wouldn't you know it but Mat has improved his swimming, and is working on the underwater turn that they do. He almost has it perfected. I think that I need to find a year round swim team to help him persue one of his favorite things.
