Christmas

We had a very quiet Christmas this year as we didn't go home as most of you know...Mike had to work on Christmas Eve so it was just me and the boys..The boys got ipods from Aunt Melanie and we have to keep telling them to sing to themselves as they are always listening to them...they got byu hoddies from Cody and Macy...Mike finally got his gun that he has been asking for for 4 years..he has alreaday started asking for another one..I got books and books and more books...even though we weren't with family it was a good christmas..

It's begining to look alot like christmas

Went to go to Mike's Christmas party today and we walked outside to this...the boys loved it....had a snowball fight at the jail with Mike's co-workers didn't have the camera then so sorry...this is why we love Albuquerque...you can actually see the snow flakes in a couple of the pics..

Mat has his first appt with the surgeon on Jan 29...wish us luck!!!

So we just got back from thr ped neferalogist and he has referred us to a surgeon....we have a couple of surgery options to chose from...waiting for the surgeons office to call us back to make the appt... will keep everyone informed...

So can I just say that I have an awesome Dad!!! He sat on the phone with me for 1 hour helping me set up my wireless network...even though it was long distance he did it....So thanks Dad....as now I can get online anywhere in the house and with both comoputers.....

we bought a house finally

Yes you read the heading right we bought a house...we have been looking for so long I didn't think that we would ever find one we liked..this one had everything that we liked, the area, we didn't want to leave the ward we live in, the price, the sq footage the number of bedroom...well I'll let you see for yourself....here are the links to the house we just bought...the first one is the floor plan, and the second one is what the outside of the house looks like...it's not the elevation that we chose but yuo get the idea...our lot is huge it is a little under 1/4 of an acre is in a cul-de-sac that only has 6 houses and has an amazing view of the valley...

We are in shock that we did it...we both feel great about it just can't believe that we did it as we had had no intention of buying anything when we went looking...as construction gets under way I'llpost pic's for everyone to see...

It is officially Christmas at our house as the cards have been hung!!! Mik tried to help but as there aren't that many MIke did it himself...didn't he do a good job??

3. Cook my pumpkins for pumkin puree (kids will only eat pumpkin stuff if it comes from a real pumpkin)

5. make the dvd's from all of the videos I have shot this year

1. Anything pickled - green tomatoes, okra, asperagus, cucumbers
2. Carne Asada
3. beef stew in bread bowls (think I'll make some for dinner tonight)
4. homemade peanut brittle
5. green chili jelly with cream cheese and crackers (it's a nm thing)

1. Disappering into a book for hours
2. Not cleaning
3. spending way to much time at Cafemom.com
4. binge eating
5. Starting projects and not finishing them

So our excursion to Temple Square wasn't what I had hoped it would be....Mikhail didn't want to be there and so he made me and Mat miserable...he actually had me in tears over it...we were able however to get some pics before the night was a total bust..

Okay I have just screamed myself hoarse watching the BYU vs UTAH game and can I say what a game it was!!! For the second year in a row BYU are the mountain west conference CHAMPIONS :)

Thanksgiving

We came to Salt Lake for Thanksgiving (still in SLC as i'm writing this). It was a very long drive 101/2 hours with only one dvd screen working and Mike staying in Albuquerque can hardly wait for the drive home :(.....We had Thanksgiving dinner with my Childs grandparents and my dad's brother Tom and his family, the boys had a great time meeting people they hadn't seen since they were little, they got to play go fish with grandma and aunt sandra, grandma still has the best rolls ever...When we got into town we stopped at my mom's brothers (Roland) house in Alpine and had dinner with them....On friday me and Mishelle decided to hit a couple of stores but only made it to the children's place...we put up her tree and it was an experience....we still have klots to see before we go home on Monday....

We went to the first parade of the holiday season the other night and the boys loved it...They got to see Santa and some really cool cars decked out with christmas lights...As soon as it was over they wanted to decorate for Christmas...told them we have to wait until after we get back from Thanksgiving:(

Parent Teacher Conference

So we had P/C'sonfriday and both boys are doing great...Mik's math scores are unbelievable and his reading is improving...Mat is almost on grade level in everything...Both teachers had nothing but good things to say about each one...

The picture with all of the stars is the wall of veterans at the school we had 13 soldiers from WWI to Iraq....The picture on the right is of Mik's beetle bug that he is growing for science in his class!!!!

Mat

It was pointed out to me that not everybody that sees our blog knows about Mat....Mat has a kidney disease that was diagnosed a little less than 2 years ago...He hasn't gotten any worse but he hasn't gotten any better either and it has gone on long enough that something needs to happen hence the specialist.

Mat update

So Mat's ped called today and we now have to go to a specialist...Don't know what's going to happen after that...kinda nerve racking...oh well not much I can do..

Veterans Day

I just want to give a shout out to all of those in my family that have served and are currently serving in the Armed Forces. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR WHAT YOU DO AND HAVE DONE!!!!!!!!

so teh primary secretary called the other day toask if Mik could give a talk on sunday. I of course said sure got the topic and promptly forgot all about it until today at super saturday when I saw her. So I came home and guess who is fighting and hating each other right now? Mik and Mat, so now none of us are in the mood to write a talk on the blessings he is grateful for. Can this day get any better?

Okay so I am sick and tired of all of the emails that I have been getting about the The Golden Compass and how it is about killing God. I have read the book and no where in teh book deos it talk about that. Oh and how the girls mother wants to kill her. Well I'm sorry there are parents out there that could care less about their kids (mik's bio mom). I fell that if you haven't read the book than shut up because everybody that I have talk to about it that has read the booksay the same thing it isn't about kiling God.
